It’s been quite a while since the developers from Wargaming introduced gamers to their beta version of the MMO tank game World of Tanks (WOT). Over the last few years millions and millions of gamers have joined the fun and the community has grown huge over time. If you haven’t played it yet, read on, because World of Tanks is the perfect MMO game for every hardcore action gamer and admirer of World War II armory. And if you are into "controlling highly dangerous tanks" as edmangoodrich calls it the tank games review on his tumblr, this will be without any doubt your favorite tank game ever.
Historical Details
The historical detail of the game is remarkable: the speed, armour, and firepower specifications and American tanks variable into just how each tank works in-match. That goes to faction-unique items which foster your tank crews' fighting efficiency, like Bavarian chocolate.
First Peak into the Game Play
The action of "World of Tanks" is really entertaining, and for some pretty unique reasons. Although tanks constructed in the early 1900's are being controlled by players, the controls are intuitive and do not take much time to get used to. The one thing that might throw off beginners is learning how to concurrently handle treads and the turret - inexperienced players will frequently find their object or movement destroyed because they forgot to pay attention to one while doing the other. This might sound boring, but it just takes a couple of matches to get the hang of driving and shooting.
Although it's fun enough to roll around by yourself, joining a clan creates strategy via clan map conflicts and a lot more opportunity for team strategies. It's a little disconcerting that single wolves can't play on a metamap and reap the benefits therein, but it does boost in-game socializing rather than crying about the promiscuity of your adversaries' moms.
At the price of free, everyone should at least give the tank game "World of Tanks" a chance. Buying gold increases the rate at which you collect in-game assets, yet it does not create a pay-to-win system. Gold could be used to buy certain items directly, but also can be turned into credits and experience to purchase other types of things. There are several examples where the game makes an apparent, or even minor, push to buy gold, since the game is free to play to begin with but that's understandable.
